The new collections of Anthracoidea buxbaumii Kukkonen on Carex buxbaumii Wahlenb.and Anthracoidea hostianae B.Lindeb.
ex Nannf.on Carex lepidocarpa Tausch recorded in the calcareous mires in South-East Poland are described, illustrated and discussed.The holotype of the latter smut is also re-examined, described and Baby Hoodies illustrated in detail.
Anthracoidea buxbaumii is reported for the second time from Poland on a new host plant.Anthracoidea hostianae is new to Poland.The variability of 3m spore sizes of both species is discussed.
The conspecificity of Anthracoidea buxbaumii and A.hostianae suggested in the literature is analyzed.
